The Prairie Heights School Board approved a $109,000 technology advancement loan at Monday’s meeting.
The loan, to be paid back over three years, has an interest rate of 1 percent.
The money will be used to purchase 30 laptop computers per grade for grades 1-3 and 5-8. Four computer carts will also be purchased for use at the middle school.
The board was told that the purchase will double the capacity at the middle school and expands access in the elementary school to 1st and 2nd grades.

The board approved advertising the 2014 budget beginning in August.
The board also heard a report that the school spent $6,900 per student from general funds, putting the corporation in the top quarter of spending per student in the state.
