Prairie Heights improved its NECC football record to 4-3 and leveled its overall mark at 4-4 with a 21-13 triumph over visiting West Noble last Friday night at Hubert Cline Field.
Cassten Everidge scored one of the Panther touchdowns on a three-yard run. Another Heights tally came on a pass interception return by Corey Johnson. Johnson also capped each of the three Panther scores with a PAT kick.
The Panthers saw their 21-7 halftime lead shrink to eight late in the third quarter on a Charger touchdown pass from Waylon Richardson to Dillon Alexander. The Heights defense dug in, however, and held West Noble off the scoreboard the rest of the way.
Coach Vince Royer’s squad can clinch its first winning regular-season in six years with a victory at Eastside this Friday. A triumph over the Blazers would also give the Panthers their first winning NECC campaign in over two decades.
