Prairie Heights humiliated The Howe School, 37-2 in varsity baseball Tuesday evening.
Matt Handshoe’s grand-slam homer fueled a 20-run Panther outburst in the first inning. Handshoe finished the game with six RBI.
Spencer Hess and Travis Grubb both wound up with three hits for the Panthers, who tacked on a 15-spot to their run total in the third inning. Quinten Bland, Bo Murphy, Casey Rowe and Kris O’Connor each ripped a double. Bland scored five runs and Grubb completed the base circuit four times.
High, Murphy, Joey Barry, Michael Erdman and Jacob Heller each took a turn on the mound for the Panthers, combining to hold the Wildcats to just one hit, striking out 11 and walking five. Murphy, who pitched the first two innings, got credit for the win.
