The LaGrange County Plat Committee heard 11 requests at their Thursday morning meeting. Five of the requests for site plans approval involved woodworking business expansions and five of the requests were for new and/or expanding agricultural facilities.
The woodworking businesses will be adding about 36,000 sq. ft. of additional manufacturing space. The agricultural additions will accommodate 40,000 chickens, 4,200 hogs and 530 calves.
The site committee is concerned with items such as manure management, drainage and setbacks from both the road and other property lines. Their role is as an advisory body to the LaGrange County Plan Commission. All of the projects heard were sent on with either a positive or a “no recommendation” vote, or were given final approval.
