Plan commission okays industrial expansion

The LaGrange County Plan Commission approved a site plan for Matrix Manufacturing at 4935S 300E, during their Monday evening meeting.

The request was for a 32 by 40 ft. commercial manufacturing addition.

Initially, the commission was going to require Matrix to also appear before the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA), as it appeared that the manufacturer was located in an A-1 zoned area and did not have a variance for manufacturing.

However, research later in the week showed that in 1989, the commissioners had approved a rezone of the parcel for industrial use, meaning the company will not have to get a variance before they can proceed.

In other business:

Tim and Lori Mullins received approval for a canoe rental business at 5775W 750N.
