The LaGrange County Plan Commission met Monday, March 24 and gave its approval to every request on the agenda.
Lamar and Doris Schlabach had a site plan approved for a 3,200 sq. ft. equine retail store at 3455S 1200W, pending redesign of parking spaces.
Schrock’s Marine at 0205W 450S had a site plan approved for a 2,880 sq. ft. addition to service and winterize boats.
Schrock Harness at 8370W 300S had a site plan approved for a 5,850 sq. ft. addition to an existing harness shop.
Hawpatch Bicycle and Sewing Machine at 0485W 200S was approved to operate a retail business to sell and repair sewing machines and bicycles.
M&R Welding at 0505 N 300W had a site plan approved for a proposed 1,408 sq. ft. addition to an existing welding shop.
AJ’s Furniture at 5355W 400S had a site plan approved for a proposed 960 sq. ft. addition to an existing building for a wholesale fabric warehouse.
M&V Finishing at 1185 West US 20 was approved for a 3,017 sq. ft. addition for storage of raw materials.
Premier Estates at 3670 North SR 5 had a site plan approved for a 3,500 sq. ft. building for the assembly of poly lawn furniture.
Gerald and Tanya Yoder received approval for a 1,500 sq. ft. building and three 1,200 sq. ft. bins for coal storage and distribution for wholesale and retail sale. The buildings will be located 1,160 ft. east of the intersection of CR 1050W and CR 600S. Plan Commission member Steve Engleking expressed his concern with the site plan, and that a variance had been granted by the BZA, feeling that this was not the right location for a business like this due to the traffic volume in that area.
