Kari Parker's 6th grade class at Westview Elementary recently held a fundraiser for the KennyBurkett Clinic in LaGrange. The KennyBurkett Clinic is a medical clinic in LaGrange that provides free health care services to LaGrange County residents who do not have health insurance. Parker's class nominated three teachers and for one week the students at Westview Elementary brought in money to vote for which teacher they would like to see get a pie in the face. Parker got the most votes and sixth grader Alex Burr brought in the biggest donation and therefore got to throw the pie. The students were able to raise almost $250 for the clinic. The clinic presently has a matching grant which matched the students’ donation, giving them a grand total of almost $500.
