Phyllis L. Meyer, 94, LaGrange, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor of LaGrange.
She was born October 3, 1918, in LaGrange, to Orville J. and Lelia (Garlets) Nelson.
She was a 1937 graduate of LaGrange High School and retired from the meat department at Purity Market in LaGrange. She also worked part-time at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange. She was a member of Sylvan Chapter #251 O.E.S. of LaGrange and LaGrange Presbyterian Church.
She was married July 17, 1937, in LaGrange, to Allen A. Meyer. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1992.
Surviving are two sisters, Goldie Hooley, LaGrange, and Janice Smith, Carmel, Ind.; one brother, Ralph (Betty) Nelson, LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Edward N. Meyer, one sister, Oneita Nelson, and two brothers, Frazier and Thurlow Nelson.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, February 22, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 23, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with Reverend Kenneth Weaver officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
