PHMS announces students of the month

On March 12, Prairie Heights Middle School students, parents, and staff celebrated the fifth student of the month convocation of the year.

Students of the Month honored were: 5th grade – Caleb Shaffer  and Caterina Staton; 6th grade – Alexis Morgan and Jed Levitz; 7th grade – Tayler Brink and Hunter Stahl; 8th grade – Logan Walter and Shelby Troyer.

Students of the Month are chosen by their teachers based on effort, citizenship, and academic progress. These students are honored in a school-wide convocation which parents of the honorees are also invited to attend. These students received words of praise, certificates, Panther Pride items such as water bottles, pens and dog tags, as well as community donated prizes.

Another 20 students, five from each grade level, were recognized for individual situations where they gave their personal best.  All students who receive personal best slips are entered in a drawing at the end of the year for a $50 gift card.

To date, Prairie Heights Middle School has honored a total of 356 students for their positive contributions.
