Phillip A. "Phil" Renz, 63, Wolcottville, died Friday, July 25, 2014.
He was born November 30, 1950, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Alfred Renz and Bertie (Smith) Scherer.
He graduated from Bishop Luers High School, St. Francis College, and IU Law School. Prior to his retirement, he was a partner at Carson Boxberger, LLP. He was a member of Sons of the American Legion Post 381, Kendallville Eagles, and Adams Lake Conservation Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mary A. (Lange) Renz; one daughter, Leslie A. Hook; six siblings, Sherry (Bill) Eaton, Suzie Scherer, Jerry (Wendy) Scherer Jr., Larry Scherer, Richard (Chris) Scherer, Michael (Jan) Scherer; and two beloved dogs, Einstein and Rosie.
He was also preceded in passing by his stepfather, Jerry Scherer Sr.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday, July 28, and noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.
