Phillip S. Preston, 76, died Saturday, April 20, 2013.
He was born October 7, 1936, in Sturgis, Mich., to Maynard and Clara (Devenbaugh) Preston.
He was a 1954 graduate of Lima High School in Howe and received a pharmacy degree from Butler University in 1959. He was the owner of the Wakarusa Pharmacy from 1963-1992 and then worked at CVS until his retirement. He was very active in AAU Basketball and his Wakarusa Pharmacy team was well known in the area.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Minelli) Preston; two sons, Marc Preston, Goshen, and Andrew Preston, Palm Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Karen (Bill) Papadopoulos, Bloomington, Ind., and Kim (Jeff) Smiejek, Chicago, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Stella and Wilson Smiejek.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, April 25, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Goshen.
Burial is in Violett Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or Goshen Healthcare and Hospice.
Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home in Wakarusa was in charge of arrangements.
