Prairie Heights High School has named Kara Gunthorp as valedictorian of the Class of 2013.
Dillon Henschen has been named salutatorian for his class.
Gunthorp is the daughter of Greg and Lei Gunthorp of LaGrange. She plans to attend Purdue University to major in agriculture business management to prepare to return to the family business, Gunthorp Farms. She is president of the Prairie Heights FFA chapter and a member of the school’s National Honor Society.
Gunthorp also participated softball while at Prairie Heights.
Henschen is the son of Richard and Tammy Henschen of Wolcottville and will be attending Cedarville University in Ohio to major in computer/electrical engineering with a minor in biblical studies. He plans to work in the alternative energy industry.
Henschen is active on the student council, Leo Club, National Honor Society, Peers Educating Peers About Positive Values, and People Believing in Jesus. He was named to Who’s Who in Leadership and Service as well as National Society of High School Scholars.
Henschen received Most Improved awards for track and cross country, as well as the mental attitude award in track. He also received recognition as an Academic All-State in soccer.
