Prairie Heights Community School Corporation has announced that all students attending need to register on Thursday, Aug. 7, from noon until 8 p.m. at each corresponding school. All parents need to attend registration, including incoming Kindergarten parents, in order to take care of textbook rental money and lunch accounts.
The first day of school, which will be a full day, is Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Students and parents can pick up schedules and pay textbook rental at registration.
New students will begin at the building they will be attending and have the following information with them to register: transcripts, shot records, birth certificates and any custody papers.
Prairie Heights High School
Book rental/fees are based upon course selection.
No schedule changes will be made at registration. However, necessary changes can be made during the first three days of school.
New students need transcripts and school records after checking out with the last school.
An Open House will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18. Incoming freshman are encouraged to visit during these hours to become acquainted with their locker and class schedule.
Prairie Heights Middle School
An Open House will be held on Monday, Aug. 18
Grade 5 informational meeting is at 5:30 p.m. and classroom visitation is from 6-6:30 p.m.
Grade 6 informational meeting is at 6:30 p.m., with classroom visitation from 6-6:30 p.m.
Grades 7, 8 and Related Arts Classroom visitation is 6-7 p.m.
Book rental/fees are based upon course selection, payable at registration.
Prairie Heights Elementary
Orientation/meet the teacher is as follows:
August 13 – 4th grade at 5 p.m.; 3rd grade at 6 p.m.; 2nd grade at 7 p.m.
August 14 – 1st grade at 5 p.m.; Kindergarten 6-7:30 p.m.
Book rental costs: Kindergarten – $102; 1st grade – $119; 2nd grade – $116; 3rd grade – $108; 4th grade – $101.
Lunch costs: Elementary school – $2.10; Middle school – $2.20; High school – $2.25; Adult – $2.95; Milk. $0.45.
Breakfast costs: Elementary school – $1.50; Middle school/High school – $1.55; Adult – $1.65.
Breakfast will be served beginning Monday, Aug. 25.
Applications for textbook financial assistance and free/reduced lunches may be picked up at registration.
Parents setting up contract book payments must pay by the specified dates established in three equal payments in September, October, and November. A minimum $10 deposit per student is required.
