Paul R. Caldwell, 74, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at his residence.
He was born February 4, 1939, in LaGrange County, to Stewart Sr. and Rosa Caldwell.
He was a farmer and worked 35 years in highway construction, retiring at age 65. He also worked part time with his sister at Strawser Auctions. He fished with many people, including Bobby Knight, and hosted a family and community fish fry for many years.
He was married September 4, 1976 to Roselea Wilson. She survives.
Also surviving are six children, Jeff (Dianna) Wilson, Wolcottville, Mark (Annie) Caldwell, Ligonier, Greg (Lori) Caldwell, Avilla, Teresa (Harlan) Arnold, St. Louis, Mo., Teresa Pergrem, Avilla, and Kristina (Ken) Wisner, Kendallville; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stewart “Squirty” (Linda) Caldwell, Wolcottville, and Dick (Sherry) Caldwell, Ft. Wayne; and six sisters, Helen (James) Thomas, Wolcottville, Jeanie (Jerry) Crawford, Sturgis, Mich., Charry (Ron) Levitz, Wolcottville, Carol Zimmerman, Wolcottville, Rosie (Gary) Walchle, Howe, and Janie (Jeff) Freed, Albion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lois, one brother, David Caldwell, and two sisters, Goldie Ley and Kathy Gose.
Funeral was Monday, March 18, at Young Family Funeral Home Wolcottville Chapel with Reverend Carldean Merrifield officiating.
Burial is in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
