Prairie Heights leveled its NECC and overall varsity football records at 2-2 with a 28-0 pasting of Central Noble last Friday night in Albion.
Coach Vince Royer’s Panthers struck for two touchdowns in the opening period, racing to a 14-0 advantage. Senior halfback Bobby Blum netted the initial Heights tally on a four-yard run.
The second came on an 18-yard pass from senior quarterback Kyler West to classmate Zach Shepard. Both touchdowns were preceded by pass interceptions by senior cornerback Corey Johnson.
West hit senior wide receiver Levi Tuckerman with a 27-yard scoring strike in the third period to put the Panthers ahead, 21-0. Blum then capped the scoring with a 62-yard touchdown dash in the fourth quarter.
Blum wound up the contest with 84 yards rushing and caught two of West’s five completions for 51 yards.
Prairie Heights takes a break from conference play this Friday when it hosts Woodlan at Hubert Cline Field.
