Panthers cruise past Eastside

Prairie Heights held off a fourth-quarter rally by Eastside to score its first win of the varsity boys basketball season, 55-51 Saturday night in Butler.

The Panthers owned a 41-31 lead after three periods. Eastside put together a 20-14 run in the final frame, but it was not enough to keep coach Brett Eltzroth’s club from celebrating its initial win in five outings.

Jacob Heller sank 20 points on five field goals and a 10-14 effort from the foul stripe to pace the Panthers. Ryan Day chipped in 17 markers and Woody Riha canned 10.

Heller, Day and Tyler Carbone each grabbed six rebounds for the victors.

Austen Brow poured in 25 points for Eastside. Jared Yoder added 10 tallies to the Blazer ledger.
