Eleven was the magic number for the Prairie Heights baseball team Tuesday and Wednesday night, as the Panthers scored 11 runs in wins over Fairfield and DeKalb.
Joey Barry knocked in four runs with a double and a single in leading Prairie Heights past NECC foe Fairfield, 11-4. Dylan Stayner produced three hits and two RBI for the Panthers. Jacob Heller also had three hits, while both Tanner Terry and Corey Johnson slapped RBI safeties.
Bo Murphy went the distance on the mound for Heights to get the win. Murphy gave up 11 hits, walked one and struckout two.
The Panthers rallied to best DeKalb, 11-7 Wednesday in Waterloo. Trailing 7-6, Prairie Heights tallied once in the sixth to tie the game and then plated four runs in the seventh to take the lead.
Jared Beechy had two hits, three RBI and scored three runs to spark the Panther attack. David Shannon chipped in three hits and three RBI, and Bobby Blum two hits and an RBI.
Heller, the third Panther pitcher of the night, was credited with the win. He worked a scoreless seventh frame, walking two and whiffing one.
Prairie Heights is now 14-7 overall and 4-5 in the NECC.
