Panther wrestlers compete at Super 10 tourney

Prairie Heights battled some of the best grappling teams in the state Saturday at the New Haven Super 10 tournament.

The Panthers went 1-4 in the team round-robin with their lone victory coming against Southern Wells (60-18). Losses came against New Haven (41-36) and state-ranked foes Yorktown (68-6), Leo (63-18) and Adams Central (53-27).

Doug Levitz was the top individual for the Panthers, as he racked up a 4-1 record with two pins at 145 pounds and one at 152. Alex Steele (113 pounds), David Rodriguez (152/145) and Kade Gerbers (182/195) all posted 3-2 marks.
