Prairie Heights traveled to Elkhart County Tuesday night to play a pair of varsity softball games.
The Lady Panthers trimmed Bethany Christian, 9-6 in their first game of the evening. Danielle Engel went 3-3 at the dish with two RBI, while Tailor Vanwagner, Brennica Smith and Alicia Beechy all ripped doubles. Rene Lewis and Tasha Johnson both collected two RBI.
Emily German got the pitching win. German allowed six hits, walked five and struckout three in seven innings.
Prairie Heights then took on Fairfield in an NECC make-up contest. The Lady Falcons scored five runs in their first at bat and rolled to a 14-4 triumph.
Smith’s two-run double was the big hit of the nightcap for the Lady Panthers. Brittanie Jernigan and Shawna Carbone each delivered RBI singles.
Carbone did the pitching for Heights in the second contest. She walked four and fanned three.
The split left Prairie Heights 6-19 overall. The loss to Fairfield dropped the Lady Panthers to 2-6 in the NECC.
