Panther Power Dance Team to compete at state finals March 9


The Panther Power Dance team competed in the Regional Competition on Feb. 18 at Lake Central High School in St. John, Ind. The team placed for state in all three routines – novice hip-hip, novice jazz, and small ensemble.

The state finals will be held on March 9 in New Castle, Ind.

At the Northrup Invitational the team placed first in novice jazz and novice hip-hop and third in small ensemble. Senior Kyleen Helmuth placed fifth in the solo category.

At the Lake Central Invitational, the team placed third in all the group dances and Helmuth placed sixth with her solo.

At the Homestead Invitational, the team placed first in the novice jazz routine and small ensemble and 2nd in novice hip-hop. Helmuth took another second with her solo.

The dance team is comprised of Elizabeth Agler, Kyleen Helmuth, Miranda Davies, Danica Forbes, Chyanne Edmondson, Tiffany Rutter, Jamee Sowards, Heather Mills, Chelsi Daley, Sierra Mullins, Carly Holsinger, Lizzie Kratz, Hope Hagaman, and Katie Rasler-Fuller. Team managers: are Amber Handshoe and Janae Norris. The team is coached by Amber King and Crystal Satvitzke.
