Prairie Heights tuned up for girls basketball sectional play last Friday night by whipping host Central Noble, 55-26.
Tressa Terry and Kayla Feeney each drained a couple of three-pointers in the first half, helping the Lady Panthers race to a 32-14 advantage at the break. Terry hit another triple in the third period, sparking an 11-0 Heights run which pushed the margin to 29 (43-14).
Terry ended up topping the Lady Panther scoresheet with 15 points. Shawna Carbone was next with 14 and Feeney finished with 10.
Rebekah Frey led a balanced Heights effort on the boards with nine rebounds. Terry grabbed eight caroms and Carbone seven.
Tiffany Simcox paced the Lady Cougars with 16 points.
Coach Kevin Frey’s Lady Panthers, who wound up 6-4 in NECC play, take a 10-11 overall record into the 2A sectional at Central Noble. They meet Bremen in the first round Tuesday at 6 p.m.
