Panther girls defeat Lakewood Park

 

Prairie Heights took advantage of a fast start to score a 60-44 varsity girls basketball win over visiting Lakewood Park last Thursday night.

A trio of three-pointers by Tressa Terry in the opening quarter helped stake the Lady Panthers to a 20-14 lead. Terry, who wound up pacing the winners with 16 points, connected on a couple of deuces in the second frame as Heights built its advantage to 34-21 by halftime.

Shawna Carbone’s three field goals sparked a 17-12 finishing kick by the Lady Panthers. Carbone totaled 15 points and 16 rebounds.

Emily Dunne and Tianna Terry were the other Heights players to reach double figures in points, as both netted 10. Terry also produced six assists.

Kelsey Kruse led Lakewood Park with 21 points.
