Prairie Heights rallied to beat Churubusco, 65-55 in NECC boys basketball play last Friday night in Brushy Prairie.
Trailing 31-24 at halftime, the Panthers went on a 19-10 scoring binge to claim a 43-41 advantage. Jacob Heller netted eight of his team-high 16 points during the third-period surge.
After Churubusco opened the final stanza by hitting a three-point shot to take back the lead, Prairie Heights put together a 13-4 run that earned the hosts a 54-48 edge. The visiting Eagles never got closer than four the rest of the way.
Heller complimented his scoring by grabbing five rebounds and dealing out four assists. Kyler West tallied 12 markers and Austin Penick nine for the victors.
Prairie Heights improved to 2-0 in the NECC and to 5-1 overall with the result.
