Prairie Heights nipped Angola, 58-56 in NECC boys basketball play last Friday night in the Monument City.
Jacob Heller canned 21 points to lead the Panthers. His two free throws with just under a minute to play lifted Heights to a 57-54 advantage.
Simon Brown, who led Angola with 22 points, hit a field goal to pull the Hornets within one. But Kyler West’s charity toss with seven ticks remaining sealed the Panthers’ second league win in five decisions.
Heller also paced Prairie Heights on the glass with eight rebounds and on the assist chart with four helpers. Dylan Stayner sank eight points.
