Panther baseball team wins doubleheader


The Prairie Heights varsity baseball team smacked 42 hits and scored 46 runs in a doubleheader demolition of host Bethany Christian Saturday.

Jared Beechy went 5-5 with a triple, a double and five RBI for the Panthers in their 32-0 win in game one. Quinten Bland also collected five hits, two of them for extra bases. Joey Barry and Bobby Blum both totaled three hits and four RBI, Dylan Stayner homered and drove in four, and Jacob Heller ripped a home run and two singles.

Zeb Domer and Bo Murphy combined for the pitching win. Between them they allowed two hits, walked two and struckout five.

The Panther bats stayed hot in a 14-1 triumph in the nightcap. Corey Johnson led the way with three hits, three runs and three RBI. Domer, Stayner and Murphy all hit doubles.

Beechy earned the pitching victory. He gave up four hits, walked two and whiffed three in four frames.

Prairie Heights improved to 11-7 with the sweep.
