Shipshewana gets off to an early start this Saturday as the town hosts its annual Pajama Sale.
Some stores will be opening as early as 5 a.m., with many more opening by 6 a.m. Saturday morning. In the tradition of Pajama Sale, special deals will be available for those wearing their PJs.
The mid-winter tradition began years ago as a way to encourage people to come out, have a little fun, and enjoy Shipshewana in the winter.
The special event attracts shoppers from around the region and beyond, with groups staying overnight and making a fun weekend of the event. It’s not unusual to see groups all sporting the same, often wild, look.
Even for those not looking to shop Saturday, the Pajama Sale can be a lot of fun to watch.
