Oscar B. Coe, 84, Rome City, died Friday, June 29, 2012 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.
He was born May 23, 1928, in Ft. Wayne, to Oscar D. and Josephine L. (Richard) Coe.
Moving from Fort Wayne to Rome City in 1983, he retired as a truck driver, having worked for Associated Truck Lines and American Natural Resources (ANR) Trucking. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in LaGrange, Rome City Sons of the American Legion, and the Eagles of Kendallville.
He was married December 22, 1971, in Hoagland, Ind., to Carol J. Berger. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2010.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Vickie James, Ft. Wayne, and Jeri Sue and Wayne Wigner, Topeka; four sons and daughters-in-law, James and Christine Coe, Todd and Bridgett Coe, and Glenn and Rosemary Coe, all of Rome City, and Kenneth and Karen Coe, Hoagland, Ind.; two stepdaughters and one stepson-in-law, Penney Scherrer, Auburn, Ind., and Deborah and Frank Milligan, Hoagland, Ind.; two stepsons and one stepdaughter-in-law, Michael and Ganne Allen, Alamogordo, N.M., and Doyle Allen, Marshall, Mich.; 26 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Darrow, Dayton, Ohio, and Janice Ludwig, Avilla, Ind.; and two brothers, Robert P. Coe, Ft. Wayne, and Donald Coe, Florida.
He was preceded in death by one son, Terry Coe, two sisters, and one brother.
Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.
Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5, in Orange Township Cemetery, Rome City.
