Orla D. Miller, 77, Goshen, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at his residence.
He was born September 15, 1934, in LaGrange County, to Daniel S. and Clara (Lambright) Miller.
He was an active Bishop in the Old Order Amish Church, ordained in 1984, a farmer, and had worked in local area factories.
He was married May 23, 1957, in Middlebury, to Betty Bontrager. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kaylene (Elmer) Petersheim, Shipshewana, and Ruth (Daniel) Fry, Topeka; three sons, Dewayne (Alma) Miller, Goshen, Devon (Nettie) Miller, Shipshewana, and Richard (Marilyn) Miller, Shipshewana; 26 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Katie (Vernon) Bontrager, Topeka; one brother, Chris (Katie Alice) Miller of Topeka; a sister-in-law, Mary Miller, LaGrange; and two brothers-in-law, Christy (Alta) Hochstetler, Shipshewana, and Chris Nissley, Topeka.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Fannie Nissley and Leanna Hochstetler, and one brother, Freeman Miller.
Visitation is all day Thursday, December 8, at the Dewayne Miller residence, 10122 CR 32 in Goshen.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday December 9, at the Dewayne Miller residence, 10122 CR 32 in Goshen, with Bishop LeRoy Lehman and Home Ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Bontrager Cemetery, Middlebury.
