Northwood boys thump Lakeland

NorthWood showed why it is one of the premiere boys basketball teams in northern Indiana Tuesday night when it buried Lakeland, 89-55 in Nappanee.

The 10-1 Panthers, coming off their first loss of the season at the hands of Northridge, roared to a 30-8 lead after just one quarter of play. A 24-11 surge at the start of the second half earned the hosts a 76-38 advantage.

Zach Zurcher led a quartet of Panthers in double figures with 27 points. Jonathan Wilkinson and Braxton Linville, each of whom swished four, three-point shots, wound up with 20 and 14 markers, respectively.  Will Stueve tossed in 18 points.
