Northridge boys down Westview

Northridge scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat Westview, 8-5 in varsity baseball Friday night in Middlebury.

The Raiders tallied twice in each of their first two at bats to seize a 4-0 lead. The Warriors pushed across three runs in the fourth and another in the fifth to deadlock the score at 4-all. Westview tallied once in the top of the seventh but could get no more.

Bryce Miller plated four of Northridge’s runs with a homer and two singles. Cody Bible knocked in two runs with a double and two singles. Mason Troyer cracked a double.

Nic Rensberger homered, singled twice and drove in three runs for Westview. Jansen Brandenberger collected three hits and Houston Haney left the yard for the Warriors.

Kyle Carson, the third Raider pitcher of the game, got credit for the victory. Miller started on the hill for Northridge and Cam Knepp came on in relief in the fifth.

Todd Wisler took the loss for Westview. Hunter Sharick and Peyton Martin also took turns on the mound.
