The Northern Indiana Grazing Conference will be held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7 and 8, at the Michiana Event Center (MEC) in Howe.
An interesting agenda has been planned and the trade show is expanding this year. Over 70 businesses are already registered to participate in the trade show.
Keynote speakers this year are David Kline from Fredricksburg, Ohio, Dr. Arden Anderson of Crossroads Healing Arts in Goshen, Ind., and Dr. Paul Dettloff, field representative for Organic Valley Co-op. Breakout sessions include topics on cover crops, pastured poultry, stray voltage, extending the life of a pasture, backyard fruit production, growing and feeding sprouts, life on the farm, and human health.
The Farmer Panel presentation at 10 a.m. on Friday is titled “A Lifetime of Farming with Passion.” Panel members are rotational grazing dairy producers Elvie H. Miller, Leland Lehman, and Mervin Hochstetler; all three from the Topeka and Ligonier area. The Farmer Panel will be moderated by William Nissley.
Registration fees remain as in the past, with reduced rates for children ages 12 and under.
