North Twin Neighborhood Watch hears program on internet and phone scams

The North Twin Neighborhood Watch captains and interested neighbors met at the home of Floyd and Karen Yoder on November 18 for their fall meeting. Sgt. Darren Denney and Detective Sgt. Don Faust of the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department presented a program on phone and internet scams, and how people can try to protect their information and personal identity by being diligent.

The North Twin Neighborhood Watch was formed in 2008 and meets twice a year with Sgt. Denney, who brings a different officer to each meeting to discuss their specific area of expertise. Eight neighborhood captains from around the lake monitor their neighborhood, and are alert and aware if "something doesn't look right."

Some lake residents live elsewhere part of the time and this develops a greater sense of security for them, as well as for those who are year-round residents. Residents are always told to call 911 if they see anything that seems suspicious. No call is unimportant.
