No surprises as LaGrange County goes to the polls


Republicans swept the vote in Tuesday’s General Election in LaGrange County. Complete results from all of LaGrange County’s voting precincts are on page 4 of today’s LaGrange News.

Locally, the District 2 Commissioner race between Republican Jac Price and Democrat Mary Mynhier was one of the closest races, with Price receiving 57 percent of the vote and Mynhier taking 43 percent.

The Circuit Court Clerk race between Republican Bonnie Brown and Democrat Suellyn Mickem went to Brown, who got just under 60 percent of the vote.

Jennifer Bricker McBride, the Republican candidate for LaGrange County Recorder, had just over 60 percent of the vote to win over Democrat Pam Farber.

Independent Jeff Helmuth received over 66 percent of the vote for LaGrange County Coroner. Democratic candidate Robert Reichard had passed away just prior to the election. Only votes that were straight party Democratic ticket were counted toward Reichard’s overall amount.
