Fillmore Equipment hopes to be in a new facility by February 2014 after having their site plan approved at a special LaGrange County Plan Commission meeting Monday afternoon.
The Michigan-based company is set to build a 40,000 sq. ft. facility at the southeast corner of CR 9 and CR 300N, moving from SR 120 on the west side of Howe.
During the special session, Fillmore representatives discussed getting a water line from the town of LaGrange extended to their location. Currently, the line ends at CR 200N.
Without water service, the new facility will need to install its own fire protection tanks, costing $150,000. They would be willing to put hat amount toward the installation of a water line, but need to know soon if the town can do that as the tanks are one of the first items installed.
Discussion revolved around how Fillmore could be reimbursed for installing the line, including looking at TIF money to repay the company.
