New fees for people serving sentences under work release will be considered at the June 16 meeting of county commissioners. Tim Clark, an officer at the county sheriff’s department, made a short presentation at Monday’s county commissioner meeting which outlined the program.
Under the new program, those on the work release program will be monitored with a satellite tracking system. This will allow officers at the jail to track their whereabouts on a second-by-second basis, much the same as is commercially available with a smartphone.
The program was tabled until the June 16 meeting to allow more time for the implementation of a fee schedule.
