NECC boys Tennis Tourney results
Angola outscored regular-season champion Fairfield, 59-54 to win the NECC boys tennis tournament which was completed Monday evening at Lakeland.
The Hornets captured division titles at No. 1 singles, No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles, while the Falcons took firsts in the No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles flights.
Fremont finished third in the team standings with 34 points. Taking fourth with 31 markers was Westview.
Three Warrior entries won consolation matches Monday night to place third in their divisions. Andrew Yoder rallied to defeat Dalton Schmidt of Lakeland, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 2 singles group and Hunter Christner came back to defeat Fremont’s Keith Bookwalter, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 3 singles flight.
Claiming third place in the No. 2 doubles division were Taylor Eash and Zach Schrock. They edged Mason Kolberg and Logan Miller of Fremont, 7-5, 7-6 (10-8) in the consolation round.
