Myron Larimer


Myron J. “Lari” Larimer,85, Sturgis, Mich., died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at his residence.

    He was born March 7, 1927, in LaGrange County, to Russell J. and Pearl S. (Moffett) Larimer.

    He was a 1944 graduate of Bronson High School and continued his education at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich., until his enlistment in the U.S. Army Air Corp, where he served from June 23, 1945 until Dec. 14, 1946 and earning the rank of PFC. Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army Air Corp, he enrolled at Tri-State University in Angola, Ind., where he received a Bachelor’s degree in architectural drawing. He retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis, Mich., after 20 years.  After his retirement, he joined John Fair Real Estate in Sturgis, Mich. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis, Mich., and an active member of the Knights of Columbus Deacon Jerry Mix Council #2508 for over 50 years. 

    He was married October 30, 1948, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Coldwater, Mich., to Margaret M. Supianoski. She survives.

     Also surviving are five children, Linda (Larry) Rayner, Lake Orion, Mich., John (JoAnne) Larimer, Centreville, Mich., Karen (Lawrence) Wrona, Auburn, Ind., Mark (Kimberly) Larimer, Sturgis, Mich., and Jane (Edward) Rial, Bend, Ore.; 17 grandchildren, Chris (Meeghan) Rayner, Jamie Rayner, David (Louise) Rayner, Nicole (Alexander) Gill, Nathan (Alecia) Larimer, Adam Larimer, Joshua (Angela) Larimer, Merriah (Steve) Moore, Ashley (Darrin) McKnight, Abi Larimer, Lisa Wrona, Paul (Susan) Wrona, Erica Cruz, Nickolas Wrona, Zachary Rial, Margaret Analiese Rial and Nicholas Rial; 14 great-grandchildren, Melia, Eva and Parker Rayner, Annabelle and Alexander Gill, McKenna Norton, Addison and Ella Cruz, Finnegan and Levi Wrona, Grant and Drake Larimer, Alex Moore and Lila McKnight; one sister, Marian Donley, LaGrange; sisters-in-law, including Joan Larimer, Traverse City, Mich., brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Milton Larimer and Melvin Larimer.

    Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Hackman Family Funeral Homes Rosenberg Chapel in Sturgis, Mich., with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. led by K of C Deacon Jerry Mix Council #2508. 

    Prayers before the Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Hackman Family Funeral Homes Rosenberg Chapel in Sturgis, Mich., followed by a procession to Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis, Mich., where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. with Reverend Father German Perez-Diaz officiating. 



    Burial with full military honors conferred by Captain John J. Kelley VFW Post #1355 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis, Mich.
