Mudd-Ox Inc. and the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation, in conjunction with the LaGrange County Council, have announced the expansion of the company’s facility north of Shipshewana.
Mudd-Ox Inc. is a manufacturer of both six- and eight-wheeled and tracked all-terrain vehicles. The business was started by owner Matt Oxender in late 2005 after he saw the need for an improved recreational and commercial ATV. This project will consist of the purchase of CNC and other various machinery and will support the creation of up to three new positions, as well as the retention of current staffing levels.
The LaGrange County Council, at the request of the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation, approved the use of tax abatements on the investment into the new facility, estimated to be valued at around $125,000. Mudd-Ox also received a grant from the LaGrange County Investment Fund. “We are grateful for the support we receive and the partnership we have created LaGrange County and the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation,” said Matt Oxender, president of Mudd-Ox, Inc. “We are happy to have supported Mudd-Ox as they grow their business in LaGrange County,” stated Jac Price, president of the LaGrange County Council. “They are a great business and produce a great product.”
"Mudd-Ox Inc. is a valued partner in our community, and we're very excited that they continue to expand their operations within LaGrange County," said Keith Gillenwater, president and CEO of the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation. "Mudd-Ox Inc.’s commitment to growing their company in LaGrange County is proof of the high quality workforce and community support that companies like Mudd-Ox Inc. receives from our LaGrange County communities.”
