Monroe Yoder

Monroe J. Yoder, 95, LaGrange, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at his residence.

    He was born July 19, 1918, in Shipshewana, to Joas H. and Amanda (Yoder) Yoder.

    He was a farmer and member of the Old Order Amish Church.

    He was married December 20, 1945, in Ligonier, to Katie Ann Yoder. She survives.

    Also surviving are three daughters, Edna (Pete) Eash, Shipshewana, Anna (Freeman) Miller, Brookfield, Mo., and Ruth (Floyd) Eash, LaGrange; two sons, Howard (Ida) Yoder, Middlebury, and LaVern (Ann) Yoder, Goshen; 22 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Mary Sue Yoder and Ruby Yoder, six sisters, Amelia Mast, Polly Yoder, Ida Miller, Anna Raber, Edna Bontrager and Amanda Yoder, and three brothers, Perry, William and Amos Yoder.

    Visitation is after 1 p.m. Thursday, November 7, and all day Friday, November 8, at the Floyd Eash residence, 7710W 050N in LaGrange.

    Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 9, at the Floyd Eash residence, 7710W 050N in LaGrange, with Bishop Chris Bontrager and Bishop Robert Mullet and home ministers officiating.

    Burial will be in Bontrager Cemetery, Middlebury.
