Miller's Super Valu of LaGrange and Rome City donated $1,000 to Elijah Haven Crisis Intervention Center following a fundraiser at the LaGrange store on Friday.
Volunteers from the community bagged groceries from 4-10 p.m. Friday to help raise funds for programs which aid victims of domestic violence. Over $200 was collected in donation boxes set up at the grocery. The $1,000 corporate donation was added to that amount.
ElijahHaven Crisis Intervention Centerpromotes peace and non-violence in the home through education, prevention and assistance programs. The agency operates a safe house for victims and provides support for families displaced because of domestic violence. Education and awareness programs also are provided in local schools and in the community. Elijah Haven also operates the Thrifty Living Boutique in LaGrange as a means to raise funds for its programming.
