Middleton retiring as PH superintendent

Prairie Heights Superintendent Alan Middleton will be retiring at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.

The Prairie Heights School Board accepted the retirement letter submitted by Middleton Monday evening.

Middleton, who began his career in education at Prairie Heights, has been the superintendent for five years. He has been in education for close to 39 years.

Along with his initial teaching stint at Prairie Heights, Middleton has also been employed at Fremont Schools, including principal at Fremont High School. He was superintendent at Garrett-Keyser-Butler Schools before retiring, but come out of retirement to serve as superintendent at Prairie Heights.
