Middlebury crash injures Shipshewana woman

 

A late Friday crash near Middlebury injured five people, including one from Shipshewana.

According to reports, Kristine Garten, 18, Shipshewana, was injured in the crash, which occurred on SR 120 west of SR 13 shortly after 7 p.m.

The reports noted that Garten was driving a vehicle that left the north side of the road and went down an embankment before striking a utility pole head-on.

Garten was reportedly airlifted to a South Bend hospital. No other details on her injuries or condition were available.

Also airlift was a White Pigeon teen. Also injured were three other teens, ages 13-16.
