Micah Hunsberger has been awarded one of two full-tuition Presidential Scholarships valued at more than $110,000 for four years at Bluffton University.
Hunsberger, the son of Benjamin and Beth Hunsberger, is a 2014 Westview High School graduate. He was a member of the school’s soccer, track and field and Academic Super Bowl teams. He attends Emma Mennonite Church in Topeka.
Hunsberger and a student from northern Ohio were the winners of Bluffton’s 16th annual Presidential Scholarship competition, which brought 84 high-achieving high school seniors to campus to write an essay in response to a faculty lecture and previously assigned readings. Invited students had grade point averages of 3.5 or higher and a composite score of at least 25 on the ACT or 1130 on the SAT.
The Presidential Scholarship is renewable with a GPA of 3.0 or above at Bluffton.
