Melvin Lee Mullett, 75, Topeka, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at his residence.
He was born March 23, 1937, in Hicksville, Ohio, to Henry B. and Amanda (Burkholder) Mullett.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He was married October 22, 1957, in LaGrange County, to Mary Ellen Bontrager. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Larry (Rose) Mullett, Burr Oak, Mich., Melvin Jr. (Dorene) Mullett, Millersburg, Alvin (Esther) Mullett, Shipshewana, Dennis (Esther) Mullett, Sturgis, Mich., and Lonnie (Amy) Mullett, Topeka; nine daughters, Eva (Perry) Yoder, Shipshewana, Linda (Ernest) Miller, Ligonier, Nola (Glen) Lehman, Ligonier, Waneta Mullett, Millersburg, Kathryn Mullett, Shipshewana, Mary (William) Miller, Shipshewana, Lorene (Vernon) Miller, Shipshewana, Amanda Mullett, Ligonier, and Ida Mullett, Topeka; 76 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sarah Miller, Hicksville, Ohio, Clara (Wendal) Heffelfinger, Hicksville, Ohio, Maria (Steve) Yoder, Homeworth, Ohio, and Eva (Abe) Shetler, LaPlatto, Mo.; and four brothers, Enos (Mary) Mullett, Millersburg, LeRoy (Irene) Mullett, LaGrange, Alvin (Katie) Mullett, Monte Vista, Colo., and Henry (Ida) Mullett Jr., Milton, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Alfred, Elmer, Eli, Mahlon, and William Mullett, and three sisters, Esther Mullett, Erma Mullet, and Lizzie Hochstetler.
Services were held Thursday April 12, at the Devon Yoder residence, 7220W 100S in Topeka, with Bishop Glenn Hostetler and home ministers officiating.
Burial is in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana.
