Woodland Wildflower Walk…
The woodland wildflowers generally bloom before the tree canopy is fully leafed. Early May is a likely time to find multiple species in bloom together.
A Woodland Wildflower Walk will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at Maple Wood Nature Center in LaGrange.
Breakfast With the Birds…
Breakfast With the Birds is for anyone who is free one Wednesday morning of each month. The program starts with coffee and doughnuts, then a talk or discussion is offered by a naturalist. Bring binoculars and enjoy a hike in the woods afterward. A small donation to attend the program is recommended.
The May 15 topic is “Reach for the Stars” and starts at 8:30 a.m.
Do you feel small when you look at the stars? Although just small lights after dark, humans have sailed to other continents and back by learning the patterns stars are arranged in. Learn some of the legends associated with star patterns and the night becomes as familiar as day.
A Summer Quilt Workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Maple Wood Nature Center.
There is a cost. Register by calling 854-2225 or e-mail email@example.com.
For more information, contact quilt instructors Ira Johnson at 463-1438 or Julia Wolheter at 367-1449.
Folk Music Jam sessions are hosted the fourth Sunday of the month. Jam sessions are mostly folk, country and bluegrass music with other styles thrown in from time to time.
Summer day camps and swimming lessons are offered at LaGrange County parks. Request the complete flier at 854-2225 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
