Maxine M. Schlabach, 88, LaGrange, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
She was born August 22, 1925, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Roy and Margaret (Nebur) Culver.
Living all her life in LaGrange County, she was a homemaker and member of Stuffed Teddy Bears for RSVP (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program) and the former LaGrange Eagles Lodge #3325. She attended Lakeview Methodist Church.
She was married December 22, 1946, in LaGrange County, to Walter S. Schlabach. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1996.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia M. Nelson, Wolcottville; one son, Dennis J. Schlabach and Julie Brown, Wolcottville; four grandchildren, Andrew DeMara, Johanna (Andrew) Graves, Tyler Schlabach, and Haley Schlabach; five great-grandchildren, Audrey and Olivia Graves, Jayden, Mason, and Lillian Schlabach; and one sister, Deloris Wilkins, LaGrange.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mildred McKee, and two brothers, Robert and Paul Culver.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
