Maurice M. Pippenger,79, Sturgis, Mich., died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Matthew 7:7 Limited in White Pigeon, Mich.
He was born February 18, 1933, on the family farm in Greenfield Township, Ind., to George and Ella (Royer) Pippenger.
Living nearly his entire life on the family farm before moving to Sturgis, Mich., in 2010, he was a graduate of Brighton High School in Brighton, Ind., and retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis after 38 years as a plant engineer. He was always involved in farming and a member of the First Congregational Church in Bronson and a life member of B.P.O.Elks #1314 in Sturgis, Mich.
He was married February 20, 1976, in Colon, Mich., to Emma Louise Smith She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Douglas (Louann) Pippenger, Las Vegas, Nev., Dennis Pippenger, Santa Monica, Calif., and Bob Pranga, Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Robin (Gary) Tilden and Nancy Flowers, both of Sturgis, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Wilson, Orland; one aunt, Pearl Schufelt, LaGrange; one uncle, Fred Pippenger, Kalamazoo, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Hackman Family Funeral Homes Hackman Chapel in Sturgis, Mich.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at the First Congregational Church in Bronson, Mich., with Pastor Terry Seiler officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bronson, Mich.
