Mary Lavenia Jaessing, 91, Howe, died Friday, October 4, 2013 in LaGrange.
She was born November 13, 1921, in Warren, Ohio, to Alfred Herman and Esther (Clark) Ihlenfeld.
Moving from Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Howe in 1990, she was a homemaker and had been an office manager at Indiana Institute of Technology in Ft. Wayne. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in LaGrange, where she was a member of the church choir. She was a former member of the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic Chorus and the Ft. Wayne Newcomers Club.
She was married December 31, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, to Fredric K. Jaessing. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1966.
Surviving are two daughters, Harriett Barrett (Larry Gross), Naples, Fla., and Mary K. Jaessing (William West), Howe; two sons, Charles Jaessing, Huntington, Ind., and Paul R. (Nancy) Jaessing, Milwaukee, Wisc.; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Harriette Shaffer, Warren, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Fredric A. Jaessing, one sister, and two brothers.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 7, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in LaGrange with Reverend Sandra Hutchens officiating.
Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee, Ohio.
