Marianna Reick, 66, Rome City, Ind., died Thursday, November 21, 2013, at her residence.
She was born February 22, 1947, in Kendallville, Ind., to Clarence and Edythe (Franze) Nartker.
Living all her life in the area, she was a 1965 graduate of Kendallville High School and retired after 37 years as an award winning sales person at Max Platt Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in Kendallville, Ind. She was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City, secretary/treasurer of the Sylvan Lake Improvement Association, and a member of Rome City American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary and Kendallville VFW Post 2749 Auxiliary. She was a past member of the East Noble School Corporation Board of Trustees and a past chairman of the Republican Party in Kendallville, Ind.
She was married June 9, 1964, in Lakewood, N.J., to James H. Reick. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Natalie and Michael Axel, Kendallville; four grandchildren, Drew and Orsi Sparkman, Trevor Sparkman, Jordan Axel, and Benjamin Axel; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Richard “Butch” and Gail Nartker, Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Dennis Nartker, Kendallville, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Nancy Reick, Colorado; four nieces, Kristen and Steve Johnson, Kendallville, Ind., Jennifer Long, Atlanta, Beth Hoffman, Arizona, and Babette and Rick Husted, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and a nephew, Brett Nartker, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Derrick Reick.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 25, at St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City with Father Bernard Ramenaden officiating.
Burial is in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville, Ind.
