Margaret E. “Maggie” Baldwin, 87, Sturgis, Mich., died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Miller’s Merry Manor of LaGrange.
She was born March 29, 1927, in Ashland, Ky., to Miles and Rosa Bell (Green) McFarland.
Moving from Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Sturgis, Mich., in 1948, she retired from Patterson’s Supper Club in Sturgis in 1992 after 32 years. She also worked for PKG in Sturgis. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was married February 19, 1945, in Ashland, Ky., to Claude O. Baldwin. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Debra Medley and Andrea Colwell, both of Sturgis, Mich.; one son, James Baldwin, LaGrange; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Lewis, Joel Neiswander, Quintin Politowicz, Quigley Politowicz, Joshua Hamilton, Sarah Schepke, Holly Roberts and Nathan Schepke; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Danny D. Baldwin, two sisters, Virginia L. McFarland and Clara Landua, and two brothers, John C. McFarland and Donald W. McFarland.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at Hackman Family Funeral Homes Hackman Chapel in Sturgis, Mich.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, at Sturgis Evangelical Church in Sturgis, Mich., with Associate Pastor Howard Miller officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis, Mich.
